Your journey into Game Design or Game Tester

Game Development Process
You’ll cover the fundamental stages of game development, including concept creation, storyboarding, prototyping, asset creation, programming and testing. You'll learn the principles of game design and gameplay mechanics, enabling you to create engaging and enjoyable gaming experiences
Programming & Scripting
You’ll learn the intricate languages and scripting tools commonly used in game development, gaining hands-on experience in coding, implementing user interfaces and integrating assets. You’ll also learn the methodologies and techniques involve in game testing, learning how to identify bugs and ensure game performance and stability.
Project Management
You'll explore the production aspects of game development, including project planning, resource management, scheduling and team collaboration, leaving with an understanding of project management methodologies and tools to help you collaborate efficiently with other team members.

How Do I Start?

To become a Games Developer / Tester, you’ll need GCSEs in Maths, English, and ideally Computer Science and Art & Design. This could lead on to A Levels in similar subjects, or you could study a Technical Diploma, T Level or Apprenticeship. You could then consider progressing to Higher Education to study Games Design or a related field.
